"Amalgaphone"

These Sets, as illustrated below, comprise our "Shortphone" and "Tropical" style instruments, mounted on a Backboard fitted with Battery Box and Writing Shelf.

Fig. 28 represents No. 700 Back-board equipped with a No. 330, 331, 333, or 334 "Shortphone," the Battery

Box having accommodation for two Dry Cells. Fig. 29, which shows our No. 705 Backboard fitted with a No. 533 "Shortphone" Set, has a Battery Box capable of holding two Wet Cells, and can, if desired, be equipped with any of the "Short-phone" style Telephones. The standard woodwork for the complete set is American Black Walnut, but Backboards and Battery Boxes made of Teak are stocked for use with the "Tropical" Sets (7oz for two Dry Cells and 706 for two Wet Cells).

On page 26 will be found a table giving complete details of the various equipments of this type which are held in stock, and Figs. 30 and 31 give overall dimensions of the respective types.
