Boxes, Coin Collecting No. 14 - No. 14DD and No. 14G

The Box, Coin-collecting, No. 14 superseded the Box, Coin-collecting, No. 13.  These are of the pre-payment type.  This box introduced a new style plug and socket system for the Mechanism and an internal Bellset.  This arrangement meant that the box was effectively self contained with no need for any external equipment except the telephone instrument.

The Bellset used was dependant on the type of exchange the coin box was connected to.

As a telephone was used there was no use for the receiver or hook switch on the side of the casing.  Some of these early cases were reused and in these cases the hook switch slot was just filled in and can probably still be seen under the paint.

On CBS systems a Partition D/60967 was fitted in the lefthand Container.
This was used for storing the batteries.  The cover has been removed in the picture.
The coin mechanism looks like a prototype - as there is a magneto generator within the case.
